We are looking for good news!

Love, solidarity and voluntary work of thousands of people have almost no space in the media. After all, there is no audience for it. Brazilian loves a tragedy. Deaths, assassinations, kidnappings, accidents and violence are constantly in newspapers covers, magazines and major issues in TV news. And every time a bad fact is reported, there is always a mass reaction.

A simple example, my grandmother hardly understands soap opera, but when it comes to the case of the boy Bernardo, who was murdered by her stepmother, she pays attention and does not stop talking about it to everyone. And her reactions are: “Shiu, let me hear the TV!” “Wow, did you see that?” “Wait, explain to me … does she killed the boy?” “Poor little boy!”.

Another example? Brazilians didn´t know really well Eduardo Campos. In July 2014, a survey released by Data Folha, he was only 9% of intended votes. There were just a few comments of his deputy, Marina Silva. The tragic death of the candidate to the presidency by the PSB, Eduardo Campos, in a plane crash in August, changed the electoral scene in the country. Everyone pitied. And for days, there wasn´t another matter. Sometime later … Surprise! Marina Silva turned out the candidate to the presidency and emerges in the polls. According to IBOPE survey, released on August 26, she would win the election in the second round. A turn and both! Driven by tragedy and of course, for a country eager for change in policy also. A hope born of dust, the death of someone. And the dream to see a better Brazil. Have news of a strong economy again and not on the brink of a technical recession.

Okay … It is dream and dust, which moves a nation. But how about we have more dreams, love and faith? And let these feelings guiding our lives? Enough about violence. Yesterday, a story moved me. Tatiana, a woman who lost 27 pounds and donated part of the liver to a child with cancer. In church, she met John’s family and found that was the only compatible donor. The little boy, who is just 4 years, could have die at any moment. A beautiful story displayed yesterday by Fantastic, TV Globo. Compassion and solidarity that a life renewed.

And the dream also motivates the small Victory Beatrice, a girl of nine years, which was selected for the hearing of the Bolshoi School in Brazil. She lives in the region known to harbor users Crack, a poor area in São Paulo. The opportunity came about thanks to a social project of a church in Cristolândia neighborhood, offering free ballet classes.

Stories that do not earn nearly newspapers covers, but save lives and strengthen the love of neighbor. Remember: a better country starts with you and your attitude! Do not blame the government, the country’s financial situation, etc. Shirk the blame and making excuses is what humans do best today. Make different. Be the difference.
